New contract for Getech

OIL exploration mapping specialist Getech today announced a major new contract, which it said will generate a gross revenue of $1.1m (£705,432).

Under the contract, the Leeds-based firm will study and interpret data using its full range of geosciences capabilities to determine what is in the ground and to understand the subsurface structures and petroleum systems.

Chief executive Raymond Wolfson said: “This contract is particularly exciting because not only is it our first with this client but it is also the first large proprietary contract that combines and integrates our traditional geophysics skills with our recently developed geological analysis and interpretation capabilities.”

Getech was the first Leeds University spin-out firm to float on the Alternative Investment Market and has the world’s largest commercial library of gravity and magnetic exploration data.
