Engineering consultancy launches in Yorkshire

A SPECIALIST structural and civil engineering consultancy has launched in Yorkshire.

Manchester-headquartered Scott Hughes Design has opened its second office at The Calls, Leeds.

The firm works in a number of sectors including education, leisure, healthcare, industrial, art and residential and in both new build, general and historic refurbishment.

It has been based in Manchester for 11 years and has a turnover of about £1.5m.
As it now focuses on increasing work in the Yorkshire market, the business is targeting 30% growth and plans to employ a team of six in Leeds over the next 12 months.

Previous Yorkshire projects include refurbishment work at the Scarborough Spa.

Colin Riches, associate director, will head up the Leeds-based team.
