Appointments: Professional 100 Club; StrawberryToo; Jumpstart

THE Professional 100 Club has appointed a new chairwoman.

Alex Pryce from Barclays will step down after seven years at the reins and hand over to Sophia Leavett of Eversheds.

Pryce has grown the club over the past seven years from just 30 members to the 125 members the networking club for young professionals has today.

As the club, which celebrated its 21st anniversary in 2012, starts its new membership term in the autumn, it will also see other changes to its committee saying goodbye to current treasurer Julie Campbell (Deloitte) who hands over her role to current committee member Kayleigh Wright (Ernst & Young) and also farewell to Tom Storrar (Knight Frank), Hugh Fairclough (Baker Tilly) and Barry Mackay (HSBC). New faces on the committee will include Mara Gosling (HlW Keeble Hawson), Ian Robinson (HSBC), Nicola Collins (Clarion) and Laura Mortimer (Barclays).

Leavett said: “Alex is a perfect example of how important networking is to young professionals in today’s business market and we can see how the club has helped her career and success as she built her contacts. The club has a huge following both in terms of members and venues and it is a privilege to hear so many partners in organisations around the region, encourage their young professionals to get involved with Professional 100 Club and should act as testament to the hard work that Alex and the committee put into the events we host. I am really excited about the ideas we already have in mind for next years events but also very sad to see Alex go and wish her every success in the future.”

DESIGN and digital agency StrawberryToo has appointed Jade Woodfield as its creative director.

Woodfield takes up the role after joining Strawberry as an apprentice just five years ago and will manage the agency alongside Strawberry directors James Greenwood and Dominic Love.

Hull-based StrawberryToo was set up by local marketing agency, Strawberry, to employ, train and mentor local talent in a real working environment. Over the past two months, Strawberry has been on the lookout for a team of four creative apprentices and graduates to staff its new agency, which will cater for local SMEs. The first stage of interviews attracted 60 school, college and university leavers, who were all keen to take their first step into the industry.

Woodfield said: “I’m extremely proud to have come from being trialled as an apprentice at Strawberry in 2009 to being appointed the creative director of StrawberryToo in 2014. I’m really looking forward to managing a new team of talented creatives who are at the start of their careers. I know exactly what they will be going through and how they will be feeling so hopefully I’ll be able to pass on some of the wisdom I’ve learnt along the way.”
