Hills joins Ernst & Young

FRAUD investigation partner Kevin Hills has joined Ernst & Young to head its forensic investigation team in Yorkshire.
Mr Hills, a keen amateur astronomer, will lead fraud investigations at quoted companies, large private businesses and public sector organisations across the north of England and Scotland.
He is also responsible for managing dispute resolutions including contractual issues, post acquisition disputes, and disputes with regulatory bodies, such as the Competition Commission.
Phillip Hilling, Ernst & Young’s senior partner in Yorkshire, said: “Kevin is a key addition to our partner team. In the current economic climate clients are calling out for risk advice to protect themselves. Kevin is the third partner to join the practice in the last 11 months.”
Mr Hills, aged 40, has been recruited from law firm Pinsent Masons, where he worked as a director for nearly eight years, building an in-house forensic team of six specialists covering the Midlands, North, and London.
He has managed assignments across Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia and has represented clients at more than 30 mediations.
He said: “The aim is to create a leading Forensic Investigation practice in Yorkshire. The risk of bribery and corruption remains prevalent in UK business, despite the rise in international anti-corruption legislation and law enforcement. In the current climate we are seeing increasing demand from clients that are keen to reduce risk and keep their house in good order.”
Mr Hills, who lives in Leeds, is one of only a handful of people in the UK who helps to identify and determine the orbits of new minor planets.
