Far East police contract win for surveillance group

SURVEILLANCE group Digital Barriers has secured contract wins worth £1.5m which “serves as evidence of strong progress” for the group.

Zak Doffman, chief executive officer of Digital Barriers, believes the three agreements “illustrate our expanding customer base in the UK and internationally”.

The largest of the contract wins, worth £750,000 this year, is for a national-level police programme in the Asia-Pacific region and is expected to lead to material additional sales in future years.

Its UK Services division has signed a new framework contract with a customer government department for a £600,000 programme which has “significant potential” to grow in next financial year.

The Group, which is the parent company of Yorkshire surveillance company COE, has also secured its first contract for its Integrated Surveillance Platform with a commercial organisation for the protection of remote critical assets. This initial contract will generate around £180,000.

Mr Doffman said: “TVI is ideally suited for law enforcement agencies around the world, and the technology has proven itself time and again as the undisputed class-leader in delivering live video across limited or variable bandwidths, such as cellular networks.

“Meanwhile, as we continue to progress customer opportunities with major government agencies for our Integrated Surveillance Platform, we have also opened up opportunities with major commercial organisations with critical assets to protect, particularly in the oil, gas, energy and transportation markets.

“Combined with growth in our UK Services division, this all serves as evidence of strong progress for Digital Barriers.”
