Leeds Bradford Airport hails 2014 as record breaking year

LEEDS BRADFORD AIRPORT (LBA) has hailed 2014 as a record breaking year, with passenger numbers exceeding 3.3m for the first time in the airport’s 83-year history.

Some of the airport’s 2014 highlights have included a £1.2m investment in terminal improvements and Aer Lingus announcing its return after 14 years linking LBA with Dublin offering flight connections to USA and Canada.

The airport flies to 70 destinations and has direct flights to 23 countries with 10 major airlines.

Tony Hallwood, aviation development director, said: ”2014 has been a milestone year for Leeds Bradford Airport and one which has seen a range of terminal developments alongside important new routes, airlines and services introduced.

“We would like to thank all of our business and leisure passengers for choosing to fly locally and conveniently from Yorkshires gateway airport. We look forward to 2015 being another exciting year at LBA.”
