In Brief: OLV Films; Coactiva; Search Laboratory

A NEW online video content production company which specialises in making cinematic stories has launched in Leeds.

OLV Films is owned by 28-year-old Zak Hamza who holds a degree in film and video production from Wolverhampton University. He set up the business after going on The Prince’s Trust Enterprise programme with a £4,000 loan from The Prince’s Trust and support from a personal Prince’s Trust business mentor.

He said: “OLV stands for ‘Our Little Vision’ and represents the way we work with clients to make their visions a reality.

“We are a creative, energetic business that produces high quality cinematic stories to attract and engage people online. We use the term ‘cinematic stories’ because the approach we take to video production is derived directly from my love of cinema, story-telling and the moving image.

“By combining these techniques on the promotional videos we make the end result is not just a video, but a story that my clients can use to excite, interest and inform audiences. With the continued growth of online video content, I’ve established OLV Films to help businesses gain the most from this powerful medium.”

PART of Yorkshire’s Callcredit, Coactiva, has been selected as one of the founding partners of the CIPFA Counter Fraud Centre (CCFC), which is leading and co-ordinating the fight against fraud and corruption across public services.

CIPFA, a global expert in public finance management, launched the Counter Fraud Centre in July 2014. As part of the Institute’s commitment to fight fraud, CIPFA has been working closely with a range of stakeholders, including a number of founding partners, to develop the tools, training and ideas to shape the future of counter fraud.

Coactiva has been selected for its specific expertise and knowledge in big data and data analytics. Coactiva provides practical solutions to fight fraud like the ThreeSixty Hub and advanced fraud prevention solutions such as risk based verification (RBV).

Andrew Davis, director of public sector at Coactiva, said: “We are delighted to be one of the founding partners of the CIPFA Counter Fraud Centre. Fraud is an issue that affects every honest citizen in the UK. Every pound we can help the public sector save by working with CIPFA and the public sector means more money for front-line services for those in need.”

SEARCH engine marketing company Search Laboratory has launched a new division.

The Leeds-based agency has opened a specialist Real-Time Bidding (RTB) arm, Bid.Media.

Bid.Media was launched in response to a large demand from Search Laboratory’s clients that wished to invest in highly targeted, tailored display advertising, the business said.

CEO Ian Harris said: “Programmatic display advertising lets clients precisely target the demographics of their typical customers and because it is relatively new and generally run very badly by media agencies, now is the perfect time for clients to capitalise.”
