BBC presenter confirmed as Business Masters host
RECOGNISABLE BBC journalist Damian Johnson will present the 2015 Business Masters next month as TheBusinessDesk.com celebrates the best of the region’s business successes.
The event at Leeds’ Queens Hotel on February 26 will see 11 awards handed out to the companies and individuals who have made the biggest impact in the last 12 months.
The independent judging panel meets today to decide the awards – a tough job as they seek to whittle down the 95 entries into a shortlist.
Hull-born Mr Johnson is a familiar face and voice from his years covering football and rugby league, among other sports.
He began his career nearly 30 years ago at Radio Hallam before moving to Look North, where he covered Leeds United’s title triumph in 1992 and the arrival of Yorkshire’s first overseas cricketer the great Sachin Tendulkar.
He has been with BBC Sport since 1998 and has interviewed many of football’s biggest names and covered World Cups and other international tournaments.
