Trade links between Yorkshire and China to be celebrated

SEVEN companies have been shortlisted for the China Business Awards, which take place next week.
The awards will celebrate the trade links between Yorkshire and China and are a central part of the Yorkshire and Humber Chinese New Year Business Dinner at Leeds’ Civic Hall.
The dinner, organised by the Business Confucius Institute at the University of Leeds, is supported by UK Trade and Investment, DLA Piper and the China-Britain Business Council.
This year there are three categories at the China Business Awards – recognising long-term experience and commitment to China, plus awards for businesses who are just starting out in China and for those Chinese businesses established in the region.
The shortlisted companies are:
- Cranswick Country Foods, the Hull-based company is responsible for more than half of all the pork exported from the UK to China
- Daifuku-Logan, which creates baggage handling systems for airports, including Kunming and Tianjin
- Mobus Fabrics, an Elland-based company which designs, manufactures and imports upholstery fabrics from China to the UK
