Appointments: Carter Jonas; ABP UK; NatWest

PROPERTY consultancy Carter Jonas continues to expand its Yorkshire-based energy division with the appointment of James Robinson as senior energy specialist at its Harrogate office.

Mr Robinson joins Carter Jonas’ energy team from Yorkshire Water, where he project managed the research, development and implementation of a variety of low carbon technologies.

Prior to this, he was a consultant at CO2Sense in Leeds.

At Carter Jonas Mr Robinson will be responsible for developing a range of renewable energy projects, from planning through to installation. He has a particular expertise in biomass wood fuel and anaerobic digestion projects.

ABP UK, the meat product provider, has appointed Darren Jones as commercial director.

Working across all of ABP’s UK plants, including its plant in Doncaster, Mr Jones will be responsible for the leadership of the sales division and other key commercial activities.

ABP UK said: “Having worked across a variety of roles within ABP, starting as a tea boy in ABP Northampton, to a trainee sales person in Ellesmere to commercial manager and general manager at ABP Doncaster, Darren brings to the role a range of skills and experience as well as a complete understanding of the company.”

NATWEST has appointed Craig Gray as director of commercial banking South Yorkshire and William Islip as senior relationship manager.

Mr Gray has been working at the bank for 10 years, predominantly in asset finance supporting customers in the commercial and corporate arena in both customer facing and leadership roles. He has previously worked as a director of asset finance.

In his new role, he will be leading a team of commercial relationship managers across South Yorkshire supporting SMEs in the £2m to £25m bracket.

Mr Islip has worked at NatWest since graduating with an economics degree five years ago. He has held roles working within the local SME market, most recently as a relationship manager, supporting small business and start up businesses within the South Yorkshire region.

His new role involves supporting commercial SME businesses within South Yorkshire achieve their ambitions by providing bespoke funding solutions to support their operations.
