Law firm celebrates office launch

LAW firm Mills & Reeve has celebrated the opening of its Leeds office.
More than 100 attendees from the Yorkshire business community joined the staff at the launch in a move the firm says reflects its “ambitious growth plans” in the region.
The firm recently signed a 10-year lease to take 6,500 sq ft in 1 City Square which saw it relocate from its serviced offices in the same building and doubling its existing space as it looks to expand through lateral hires in the areas of corporate, commercial, employment, construction and commercial disputes.
The night was a celebration of all things Yorkshire including Yorkshire sourced canapes, Yorkshire’s finest Black Sheep Ale and raffle prizes from Bettys.
Guests were also treated to magic from Sebastian Walton, winner of The Magic Circle Young Magician of the Year 2013, while Charles Rowett, CEO of Yorkshire Cancer Research, officially opened the office and the event raised £276 for the charity with a business card raffle.
Philip Way, head of the Leeds office, said: “Recognising the potential of the Yorkshire economy generally and the success of the Leeds office to date, the firm’s board has chosen to invest in the offices to broaden the scope of the firm’s offering in Leeds.
“We have strong ambitions to grow the practice in Leeds across the firm’s key sectors and service lines and to share with the Yorkshire marketplace a firm of which we are very proud.”
