Freight firm rides wave of export growth with new airport site

FREIGHT management firm 512 has bought into South Yorkshire’s growing reputation as a logistics hub, opening a new site in Doncaster.

The Sheffield-based firm has opened a facility at Doncaster Sheffield Airport’s Business Park, allowing exporters to have a regional base for international exports and imports.

This will be the second location in which the business has invested, after the firm’s Sheffield office saw a 20% growth in trade, and has already seen 11% increase on this figure in the year to date.

512 plans to open a further five offices in as many years, as it continues to manage up to 200 export consignments a day, dealing with airfreight, seafreight, couriers as well as trailer documentation and insurance.

Karen Mosely, head of business development at 512, said: “We are thrilled to have opened out new facility at Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

“Having witnessed huge success and growth of our site in Sheffield, we were keen to create more export opportunities across South Yorkshire, and Doncaster seemed the obvious choice.

“We are meeting more and more exporters from this area and we saw a chance to capitalise on the opportunities this can provide, both for us and for those companies wanting to transport goods overseas.”
