2015 Rainmaker Awards shortlist announced

THE significant deals and leading professionals in Yorkshire’s corporate finance community will battle it out for the inaugural Yorkshire Rainmaker Awards in July.
The shortlist, which was created over an afternoon of discussion and debate with more than 20 leading advisers, investors and funders, representing the different parts of the corporate finance world, has today been announced.
Deals involving Card Factory are up for two awards, with its IPO featuring in the Public Markets category while Charterhouse’s sale of its stake is nominated in the Private Equity Exit Deal. Teams from Addleshaw Goddard and Deloitte are also nominated twice for the awards, which are being held at the Queens Hotel, Leeds, on July 2.
There will be five team awards, five for deals and one individual honour, that of Rainmaker of the Year – the outstanding professional in the Yorkshire community, who has been at the heart of significant activity during the last year.
There are five shortlisted candidates for the individual prize – Darren Forshaw from Endless, LDC’s John Garner, Martin Jenkins of Deloitte, KPMG’s Christian Mayo and Garry Wilson, also from Endless.
The winners will now be chosen by an online vote, with a unique code ensuring only one person from each firm votes. Voting will open shortly across the 11 categories. To join the voting panel please email alex.turner@thebusinessdesk.com.
The Rainmaker Awards is a joint venture between TheBusinessDesk.com and Out There Events.
