Appointments: Irwin Mitchell, Garbutt & Elliott, Wrigleys Solicitors

THE real estate team of Irwin Mitchell in Leeds has appointed associate solicitor Clare Davitt, who has made the jump from DLA Piper.
Ms Davitt specialised in commercial property, including purchases and disposals and estate management, after qualifying in 2007.
She said: “Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds office is growing at a significant rate and has a real focus on businesses within the Leeds City region. As a local girl born in York this really appeals to me and I feel that I can play an important part in continuing this growth.”

Accountants Garbutt & Elliott have strengthened their wealth management team with the appointment of Owen Thomas as a chartered financial planner.
He joins from national firm Towry and will be reporting to Allan Dodds, the recently appointed head of G&E Wealth Management.
Previously, Mr Thomas has been a manager at Nationwide Building Society and the RBS Group.
Allan Dodds commented: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome someone of Owen’s calibre, drive and experience to G&E Wealth Management. He is an accomplished chartered financial planner and his arrival will boost the team and help drive the practice forwards.

Wrigleys Solicitors has appointed Ian Potter, a Court of Protection specialist, to partner level.
The firm’s division has seen double digit percentage growth in PI Trust and Deputyships seen in the last 12 months.
Tracy Sladen, a senior Court of Protection solicitor plus a second team leader and several paralegal appointments in the Trust & Court of Protection Administration team.
