ENGINEERING firm Centa Transmissions has appointed a managing director following the retirement of Bob Arnott.

Mr Hudson said: “Bob and I both share a passion for couplings and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with him over the years.

“He’s grown Centa into a world-class, £5million business and it is my aim to continue a level of sustainable growth that will further enhance our reputation in the global power transmission industry.

“My new role brings with it new challenges and I’m looking forward to working with our highly skilled team here to deliver work that exceeds customers’ expectations. I already have a number of new plans for Centa and will be sharing details of these developments over the coming months.

“I’m also delighted to announce that Bob has agreed to be contracted to the business for several days per year to support Centa in a technical advisory role as our chairman.”

LFDTDirector at Lupton Fawcett Denison Till, Daniel McCormack, has been appointed as a trustee of SportsAid Yorkshire & Humberside.

The Duchess of Cambridge is the patron of the charity which helps young sports people overcome the financial challenges they face on their way to becoming elite athletes.

Athletes such as Jessica Ennis, Sir Bradley Wiggins, Dame Sarah Storey, Sir Steve Redgrave, Sir Chris Hoy and Baroness Grey-Thompson have benefitted from the scheme.

SportsAid gives financial support to 3000 young sports people throughout the UK and across a variety of sports, enabling firms to directly help young athletes in their community.

Mr McCormack of Lupton Fawcett Denison Till said: “The idea was first mooted when I met with Sir Rodney Walker, the President of SportsAid in Yorkshire and the Humber. He mentioned that as I work within corporate finance sector I would be well placed to use my network to communicate the benefits of becoming involved with the charity.

“There are so many positives companies can get from the association, from helping enhance Corporate Social Responsibility ambitions through to being an integral part of the athlete’s development into a potential world beater.

“Through the sponsorship, which can be from as little as £1000 per year, a sponsor can help to build customer goodwill and staff morale with visits from the athlete.

“Having discovered how much good work they do with young athletes I was very proud to accept the position of trustee for Yorkshire and Humberside within the organisation.”
