Law firm expands Leeds offices

LAW firm Freeths has expanded its Leeds office, moving into a 5,000 sq ft suite less than 18 months after launching in the city.

It became the firm’s 11th office when it opened in January 2014 and followed several years of growth that had included launching in Sheffield two years earlier.

Freeths’ new premises are still at West One on Wellington Street but provide the firm with more space to accomodate its recent hires. Last month Joseph Hale and Philip Myers joined from Addleshaw Goddard and Eversheds respectively, which followed on from three senior appointments at the start of 2015.

“This is a real milestone for us,” said John May, Freeths’ managing partner for Leeds. “Such growth is a recognition of the support we have received from local businesses and a commitment from us to an ever-growing Leeds economy.”

Freeths, which currently generates annual fee income of £55m, is targeting turnover of £100m by 2020.
