Appointments: Grant Thornton, DTZ, Clarion

THE audit team at Grant Thornton has been boosted by the appointment of Richard Woodward as senior audit manager.

Mr Woodward previously spent 16 years at Deloitte’s Leeds office, specialising in the manufacturing and consumer business sectors.

Vicky McLoughlin, head of assurance for Grant Thornton in Yorkshire, said: “Richard has led audit teams across both the UK and Europe and, combined with his wealth of experience and connections amongst the region’s businesses community, he will play a vital role in providing the intelligent insight Grant Thornton’s clients have come to expect from us.

Mr Woodward added: “I’ve worked with a variety of clients, ranging from subsidiaries of US-owned businesses to local private companies and private equity backed businesses, and this is a great opportunity to use my skills to further strengthen the outstanding advisory services Grant Thornton delivers to its existing clients, as well as developing new relationships across the North.”

DTZ teamFive appointments have boosted DTZ’s Leeds office.

Cian O’Carroll joins as associate director in the rating team from Lambert Smith Hampton, whilst the project & building consultancy team has recruited Wayne Cummings as senior quantity surveyor.

He previously held a position at AECOM with experience in retail and supermarket

Graduate surveyors Richard Coles and Tom Pollard also join the team, whilst Olivia Bailey has become the newest edition to the facilities management team.

Clarion David Cunningham and teamClarion’s commercial and IT law has grown with the appointment of David Cunningham as partner.

Mr Cunningham joins from Bond Dickinson after 15 years specialising in technology and business process outsourcing, working with a wide range of clients with turnovers from £1m to £400m.

Partner Matthew Hattersley who leads Clarion’s commercial law team, said: “With his extensive experience in commercial law as well as his specialism in IT, David’s skills perfectly complement Clarion’s expertise and he will be a fantastic asset to the team. “
