Igloo warms up with £29m pricetag for South Bank sites

THE biggest mixed-use sale of the year in Leeds is underway, as owners the Igloo Regeneration Partnership put two South Bank sites up for sale.

The Round Foundry Media Centre, home to TheBusinessDesk.com, and Marshalls Mill estate are now on the market.

The Igloo partnership is a group of charity and pension funds managed by Aviva Investors with the aim of developing urban regeneration sites across the UK.

Knight Frank have been appointed to market the sites on South Bank, a former industrial area which is undergoing major regeneration.

Knight Frank said in a statement: “Investor sentiment for Leeds is strong and there is a lack of stock available.
“[Igloo] has been invested in the Holbeck area for over 10 years during which time the Holbeck Urban Village has become firmly established as the location of choice for new, growing and already successful digital and creative sector businesses in Leeds.”

The area continues to be a site of investor interest, after contractors were appointed to deliver an £80m redevelopment of Tower Works in Holbeck Urban Village, two streets away from the Round Foundry.

It is forming part of the regeneration of Leeds’ South Bank, which covers the area from Leeds Dock to Holbeck Urban Village, and includes theTetley Brewery as well as the development of the South entrance to Leeds Train Station.
