Telecoms business liquidated for its role in £4.5m credit scam

A TELECOMS business registered in Huddersfield and Ossett has been liquidated by order of the High Court after it was part of a £4.5m credit scam.
Mosellic claimed to be a multi-million-pound IT and telecoms business, but together with three connected companies also wound up in the public interest, was found to have falsified accounts in order to obtain credit fraudulently.
The Insolvency Service investigated Global Revolution, Habi Solutions and SRW VOIP, whose accounts and those of Mosellic  purported to show combined sales of nearly £9.4m. They were part of a network of at least 19 companies, which were set up in order to obtain credit.
Mr Registrar Baister said: “The fraud I should say being, taking a common form, namely that the company sets itself up, puts in false accounts, seeks to establish some sort of trading record through the false accounts and then goes on to raise credit as a result of that.
“There are plain indications that these companies are in danger of being used for a well known fraudulent purpose.”
Chris Mayhew, company investigations supervisor at the Insolvency Service, added: “Within 72 hours of discovering that Mosellic had improperly obtained $7m (£4.5m) of bandwidth for text messaging on credit from a global provider of technology and business services, a provisional liquidator was appointed to shut down Mosellic unscrupulous activities.
“The swift action shows that the Insolvency Service will not allow companies to operate in this way and will investigate abuses and close down companies found to be operating against the public interest”.

Mosellic was set up in October 2010 and changed its name to Nomtorea in April 2015. Its directors have been Richard Charge and Louise Charge from incorporation to present date and Andrew Mayne from June 2014 to March 2015.
