Personal injury firm rebrands to reflect national footprint

THE medical negligence and personal injury law firm set up be Neil Hudgell is to drop the founder’s forename as the firm grows nationally.
The Hull-based firm, which also has offices in Leeds, London, Birmingham and Bristol, will now be known as Hudgell Solicitors.
“Following the substantial growth of the business over the past few years, we are now not only one of the biggest personal injury specialists in the north of England, but a national business representing thousands of clients across the country,” said Mr Hudgell. “It was a natural step for us to rebrand, but we have purposely only made a subtle change.
“As we have grown, our acquisitions have enabled us to add great expertise to our legal teams, which has in turn helped us as a business to place an increased focus on handling more serious cases which often result in people suffering life-changing or life-limiting injuries.”
Hudgell Solicitors has expanded through an aggressive acquisition strategy following the Jackson reforms, buying up case files from close to 30 other firms which sold off their personal injury departments to focus on other areas of law.
Its purchase of Rapid Solicitors last October, a move which significantly increased the size of the company, took staff numbers above 200 and client numbers to more than 10,000. The Rapid brand will now be phased out over the coming months, with all operations coming under Hudgell Solicitors.
Mr Hudgell added: “The purchase of Rapid was an important step for us, as it further cemented our position in Yorkshire as a leading personal injury firm, but it makes sense now to move forward with one recognised and trusted brand.”
