£525,000 funding for glazing firm as it proves its metal

SPECIALITY glazing business Ace Aluminium and Architectural Services is relocating to North Yorkshire headquarters after a funding boost.

The firm received £525,000 funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial to fund the move to Great Ayrton, at the top of the county.

Only four years old, the firm was established by sole shareholder and director Andrew Platts, and it specialises in curtain walling, windows and doors.

The Stockton on Tees-based firm is now predicting turnover of £2.5m, after using the Santander funding to acquire new property in North Yorkshire as their main site.

Andrew Platts, director at Ace Aluminium, said: “The new property is a great opportunity for the business as it will provide more space, allowing for potential expansion and future growth.

“The team at Santander has been extremely supportive throughout the process and we are confident that this move will be a great next step for us.”

Vanessa Collins, relationship director at Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “We are delighted to provide funding to support Andrew and the team at Ace Aluminium.

“Andrew is an enthusiastic, commercially astute, reliable and committed entrepreneur, as shown by the forecast turnover of £2.5 million after just four years.”

Paul Griffiths, director at Marlin Commercial Ltd who advised Ace Aluminium & Architectural Services Ltd on the purchase said: “The new site will allow Ace to continue its growth which has been sustained over the previous four years.

“Given Andy’s enthusiasm for the project to go ahead, I had to find a bank who would be able to not just provide funding for the purchase, but which would also commit to becoming part of Andy’s projected business plans for the future.”
