Property in brief: Gregory Property Group, CBRE, JLL

PLANS for the Regent Street car dealership are in their final stages, as it is announced that the site will house well-known retailers which will create 50 jobs.

The development is entering its late stages, after Leeds City Council approved outline plans for a new retail and leisure development on Regent Street and Skinner Lane in 2014.

These plans have had to change recently to reflect a different retail offer than originally planned, with value retailer Poundworld, Aldi, and 24-hour PureGym.

The scheme is led by the Gregory Property Group, which submitted two further applications to the council to reflect the different retail offer that has been proposed for the site.

Barry Gregory of Gregory Projects, said: “We are pleased to be moving forward with our plans to regenerate Regent Street, and delighted to be able to add Poundworld to the list of occupiers we will welcome to the site.”

MEADOWHALL, which this week raised the roof celebrating its 15th consecutive month of sales growth, is to invest £1.4m on improving the roof that covers about 40% of the shopping centre.

CBRE’s Leeds building consultancy team has been appointed to manage the roofing works that will be undertaken by Leeds-based contractor, Everlast Waterproofing.

It will start on site this month and work is scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2016.

Ben Rennocks, director at CBRE Leeds, said: “The appointment will add to CBRE’s strong portfolio of planned maintenance works across the UK and we look forward to showcasing the completed roof in March 2016.”
