Appointments: NorthEdge Capital, Legal Studio Solicitors, Surgical Innovations

PRIVATE equity firm NorthEdge Capital has appointed John Rastrick to its Leeds office.

He will be joining the firm from 1 September, after spells at 3i where he was an investment director and Phoenix Equity Partners, where he was a partner for eight years.

John Rastrick said: “NorthEdge has developed a reputation as one of the largest and strongest private equity firms in the North of England.

“With the quality and strength of the Northern marketplace and NorthEdge’s track record and dedicated senior resource locally, I’m confident that we’ll be completing a number of successful investments over the next few years.”

NorthEdge has made 11 investments from its maiden fund, representing over £140m of investment into the Northern business community during the last two and a half years.

DISPUTE resolution firm Legal Studio Solicitors has appointed Lindsay Dixon as a consultant solicitor in the niche litigation practice.

Formerly an associate solicitor at Blacks Solicitors, Ms Dixon deals with a diverse range of contentious work. Her particular areas of specialism are professional negligence claims, construction disputes and contractual disputes.

She said: “I am delighted to be joining such a forward thinking team of like-minded individuals.”

SURGICAL INNOVATIONS has appointed Melanie Ross as finance director and company secretary.

35 year-old Ms Ross has worked for the group as a consultant since October 2014 and she has also been appointed as general manager of the principal trading subsidiary, Surgical Innovations Limited.

She has worked previously at AESSEAL plc as business development manager and Eaton Cooper Lighting and Safety Ltd as finance business partner.

Save for the information set out in this announcement, there are no other matters in relation to Mrs. Ross’ appointment that require disclosure under the AIM Rules.

As was announced on 6 November 2014, Mike Thornton leaves the Group has resigned and left the Board with immediate effect.
