Appointments: LCF Law, Newtons Solicitors, Myddleton Croft

THE personal law team of LCF Law has been boosted with two new hires.

Deborah Kay has been appointed as an associate solicitor after joining from Ramsdens. She has 20 years’ experience in personal and property law.

Amjed Zaman has been appointed as a solicitor, after working for The Co-operative’s Legal Services Division.

LCF Law recently announced its merger with Barber Titleys and employs 120 people across its Bradford, Leeds, Ilkley and Harrogate offices.

LAW firm Newtons Solicitors is growing its residential conveyancing team with the appointments of Catherine Leftwich and Claire Weatherley-Wright.

Ms Leftwich, who will be based in the firm’s Knaresborough headquarters, qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and joins from Wetherby-based Ware & Kaye.

Based in the firm’s Ripon office, Ms Weatherley Wright joins from Hethertons Solicitors in York.

LEEDS investment firm Myddleton Croft as appointed Carolyn Black as associate director.

With more than 15 years’ experience in investment management, she gained her investment diploma at BWD Rensburg before joining Redmayne Bentley in Leeds.

Julie Jones, managing director of Myddleton Croft, said: “The firm has seen 55% growth in assets under management over the last three years, and our latest appointment is part of the ongoing commitment to expanding the strength of our team ensuring that clients continue to receive the best possible service.

“This is a senior position and we are confident that Carolyn will play a key role in contributing to the growth of Myddleton Croft, helping us to achieve our target of £100m of assets under management within the next 12 to 18 months.”

Myddleton Croft last month announced a pre-tax profit of £224,000 on turnover of £829,000, growing 23% year on year. Despite a substantial increase in regulatory costs, turnover was up by 10% and funds under management rose by 20%, to £70m.

Founded by chairman David Cowell, Myddleton Croft has grown to an eight-strong team led by Julie Jones and investment director Patrick Toes.
