Textile group to integrate Scottish purchase into Leeds site

SPECIALIST textile company AW Hainsworth has bought Scottish-based Replin Fabrics in a deal that will increase its Leeds workforce by 15 roles.
Replin will close its manufacturing facility at the end of the year, with the operation being integrated into Hainsworth’s manufacturing and innovation centre at Spring Valley Mills, Leeds. The 15 jobs will be a mix of Replin staff relocating to Leeds and newly created jobs and will increase the overall workforce to 160.
Replin designs and manufactures fabric for national and international transportation.
Tom Hainsworth, a director of AW Hainsworth, said: “Replin Fabrics is a fabulous complementary addition to A W Hainsworth textile portfolio, further enhancing our manufacturing, design and innovation capabilities.
“Like ourselves, Replin believes in the importance of combining the traditional qualities of craftsmanship with cutting edge innovation and product development to meet the needs of a growing and diverse global customer base.”
AW Hainsworth has been producing textiles in Leeds since 1783 and today operates across a range of markets, including apparel, interiors, ceremonial uniform, emergency services PPE, cue sports and funeral products.
