Appointments: Lake Legal, Age UK Sheffield

LEEDS-BASED family law firm, Lake Legal has hired Sam Haslam from Lancashire firm Harold Stock & Co.

A qualified solicitor of over 15 years, she has practiced solely in family law in both Leeds and Harrogate, with particular emphasis on financial settlements and child related issues arising on separation and divorce.

She regularly acts for parents seeking permission to move abroad with a child.

CHARITY Age UK Sheffield have hired a bank director, a community worker and a pensions specialist to the board of trustees.

Melanie Perkins, director at the British Business Bank, a state-owned bank set up to help SMEs has been appointed, as has Maurice Littlewood. He worked in the coal and power generation sector until he retired. He was awarded an MBE in 2011 for services to the community.

Melinda Riley is the last member appointed to the board, having worked at the Pensions Advisory Service after working for Sheffield City Council for a number of years, as well as the Department for Education and the Health and Safety Executive.

Jenny Dewsnap, Age UK Sheffield business and marketing manager, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome the three new trustees and are sure the skills, knowledge and care they will each bring will help enhance the team here as we continue to find new ways to deliver services that enable older people to maintain or regain their independence.”
