Leeds Bradford Airport records busiest-ever August

LEEDS BRADFORD AIRPORT welcomed more than 400,000 passengers last month as it recorded its busiest-ever August.
It represented a 4% increase in passenger numbers for the month, to nudge its rolling annual total to 3.4m people.
It is also the first time in the airport’s history that more than 100,000 passengers used the airport in each of the four weeks in August.
“Leeds Bradford has delivered strong passenger growth over the first half of 2015 as more passengers decide to fly close from home or their business saving on their journey time,” said John Parkin, chief executive of Leeds Bradford Airport.
“We are also very proud of our role as a travel gateway to the region, alongside supporting more jobs and delivering improved access to the Northern Powerhouse.”
The introduction of business and leisure services and an increase in frequency on a number of domestic routes have underpinned this performance. Leeds Bradford serves 60 destinations flying to over 20 countries with 10 major airlines.
