University of Leeds ranked second in the UK

THE Good University Guide has ranked the University of Leeds as the best in Yorkshire, after powering ahead with high levels of “student satisfaction.”

The University jumped three places, and won second place in the The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide University of the Year title.

The University of Leeds features among the top 100 in the QS World University Rankings and in the top 50 for English, education, communication and media studies, geography, and earth sciences.

The University of York came in second place, despite a decline in the league table, dropping eight places to 17th, though eight departments were ranked in the top five for their subject and the university was placed in the top ten for the external impact of its research.

It was followed by the Universities of Sheffield, which had a 94% course completion rate, and Hull.

Huddersfield came in fifth place in the region, followed by Sheffield Hallam, Bradford, York St John and last but not least Leeds Trinity, which has only been then Leeds Beckett.
