Appointments: Progeny Private Law, Newtons Solicitors, Chris Edwards Chartered Accountants

LAW firm Progeny Private Law, made up from a consortium of lawyers from Gordons, has added a new recruit to its ranks.

Rebecca Hutchinson has moved after 8 months at Chadwick Lawrence. Prior to that she was a lawyer at Gordons until August 2014, where she was a trainee solicitor.

She will join Frances Davies, Suzannah Farnell, Martin Hasyn and Simon Glazebrook, all former partners and solicitors at Gordons. Please find Rebecca’s comments below.

THE Knaresborough office Newtons Solicitors has continued to expand with the appointment of senior solicitor Carole Gibbs.

She will be the seventh member of the group’s Wills and Probate team and joins from Hartlaw, Wetherby specialising in wills, trusts, inheritance tax planning, powers of attorney and probate matters.

Newtons Solicitors was founded by Chris Newton and his wife, Sarah, who is also a director, in 2009.

The firm also has offices in Darlington, Harrogate, Ilkley, Leyburn, Ripon, Richmond, Stokesley and York with a total of 13 directors and LLP partners and 38 lawyers.

ACCOUNTANTS on the border of Sheffield and Chesterfield, Chris Edwards Chartered Accountants, are keeping it int he family with a director appointment.

Martin Edwards joins his father as a director. He trained and worked in the audit department after university. He is now undertaking a wide range of duties for business clients and individuals, whilst taking on a practice management role.
