Exporting roadshow from UKTI set to roll into Yorkshire

THE Government’s ‘Exporting is GREAT’ roadshow is coming to Leeds as the UKTI embarks on ambitious plans to get 100,000 more UK businesses trading abroad by 2020.

A 32-tonne ‘Exporting is GREAT’ truck will tour the region from 23-30 November bringing international trade advisors along to discuss plans with first-time as well as established exporting businesses.

Mark Robson, UKTI regional director for Yorkshire and the Humber, (pictured below) said: “The presence of the Exporting is GREAT campaign truck in Yorkshire and the Humber presents first-time and experienced exporters with an invaluable opportunity to get tailored and expert advice first hand from our international trade advisors.”

Other events on offer include a digital workshop from a Google lead trainer on 25 November.

On 26 November, Jon Gillgrass, international director, Santander Corporate & Commercial South Yorkshire & Humber, in partnership with the UKTI is hosting ‘A Taste of Yorkshire In International Markets’ for businesses in the food and drink sector.

Mr Gillgrass said: “Santander is dedicated to supporting businesses to start or expand their international operations, and this is why we’re proud to support the Exporting is GREAT campaign across both the UK and South Yorkshire & the Humber regions.

“This event will help businesses in the food and drink sector understand the export support available and how to discover new opportunities in the global market.”

The Exporting is GREAT roadshow will be located at Wellington Place, Leeds on 23-24 November, with the main event on the 24 November focusing on winning export opportunities In China.

Following this appearance, it will then move on to the Advanced Manufacturing Park Rotherham for 26-27 November.

On its final day in Yorkshire on 30 November, sees the roadshow at Harrogate Pavilion with the presentation on Not Difficult Just Different – Five Steps To Exporting.
