What is your favourite place to visit in Yorkshire and why?
The East Coast – a walk on the beach at Sandsend and fish & chips at The Magpie in Whitby – fabulous, whatever the season.

What is still on your “to do” list in the region?
The Three Peaks – with our two boys

What is the most memorable meal you’ve ever had?
The Yorke Arms in Nidderdale takes some beating, although I’m intrigued by The Man behind the Curtain (if I can ever get a table …)

What is your most Yorkshire trait?
As a proud Lancastrian, I couldn’t possibly comment!

Favourite piece of trivia about the region.
I loved the London 2012 stat about Yorkshire being in the Top 10 of the medals’ table (and above Australia)!

What is your favourite cultural icon to come out of Yorkshire?
David Hockney

First experience of Yorkshire
The Western Terrace at Headingley for an England v New Zealand test match in 1983 – quite the baptism of fire!

Worst experience or thing about Yorkshire?
Elland Road!

What is one thing you’d steal from Lancashire (or other UK regions) if you could?
A decent Premier League football team (see above)

What is the most overrated thing about Yorkshire?
Pork pie and peas with mint sauce, really! That said, after 20+ years I’m starting to get it.
