Grade II-listed hotel sold by joint administrators in £5.6m deal

17TH CENTURY hotel Hellaby Hall in Rotherham has been scooped up in a £5.6m deal.

Real estate advisors Savills completed the deal on the behalf of administrators at AlixPartners to Hellaby Hall Hotel Ltd.

Ryan Grant, Lee Causer and Catherine Williamson of AlixPartners were appointed in May 2015 to four hotels under what was the Prima Hotels group, which experienced “financial difficulties” and had to call them in.

The portfolio also included Quorn Country Hotel in Leicestershire, Stanneylands Hotel in Wilmslow and Nunsmere Hall Hotel in Cheshire
They were put on the market by Savills in September 2015.

The Grade II-listed hall dates back to the 17th Century and has retains its original Jacobean facade.

It is now an 89-bedroom hotel, with an AA Rosette restaurant, health and leisure club with swimming pool plus conference and events facilities for up to 500 guests.

Tom Cunningham, hotels director at Savills, said: “This picturesque hotel provides multiple income streams and has a strong trading record based on its popularity with both corporate and leisure guests.

“As such, we received high levels of market interest and were able to complete the sale process within just four months.”
