Appointments: Andrew Jackson, Eshton, UNTHA UK

LAW firm Andrew Jackson has hired two partners to boost its team.

Chris Waterhouse joins the firm in Hull from Lupton Fawcett Denison Till’s Leeds practice.

He will join the real estate team, and has 25 years’ experience in commercial property.

Matthew Smith, formerly a managing associate at Bond Dickinson, has joined Andrew Jackson’s team in York, a city where he worked for several years prior to that firm’s relocation to Leeds.

He is reuniting with former colleague Philip Ashworth at the firm.

Richard Tovey of EshtonLEEDS property developer, Eshton has hired a director to its management team.

Richard Tovey joins from Gregory Property Group where he was responsible for retail, leisure and commercial activity.

James Chapman, managing director at Eshton, added: “Richard is a great addition to the business. During the last 12 months we secured one of the year’s largest industrial deals in the North of England, so his knowledge and experience will prove to be crucial as we look to build on our recent achievements”

Eshton currently has schemes with a gross development value of approximately £85m on the go, with a further £50m in the pipeline.

Marcus BrewINDUSTRIAL shredding specialist UNTHA UK has appointed managing director Marcus Brew.

He takes the reins of the company following a promotion from his former role of sales director.

Chris Oldfield, who has led the York-based shredding business since 1997, will become chairman.

The company has grown since then into a £10m turnover company, wiht 17 employees.

Mr Brew said: “We have always been a very focused, customer-centric organisation that strives to supply not just the best equipment but the greatest levels of service and support too. We’ve made some key changes to our team this year to support our push for continuous improvement, and are currently undergoing a further recruitment drive to fuel the next part of our journey.”

Mr Oldfield said: “This is a very exciting time in the evolution of our business. I will still have an active role at UNTHA UK and look forward to analysing the company’s position and efficiencies from a different perspective. Marcus’ promotion will also enable me to support some of the wider industry initiatives, forums and committees that I’ve long been asked to get involved with. I’m eager to see how UNTHA UK will further progress over the next few years.”
