Appointments: Flint Hyde, Naylor Wintersgill, Irwin Mitchell

CHARTERED accountants Naylor Wintersgill have added Chris Gumbley to the team as a tax partner.

Managing partner, Vicky Wainwright said: “We are delighted that Chris has chosen to join the Naylor Wintersgill team on a full time basis.

“As a tax specialist, Chris offers a wealth of specialisms and expertise in all areas of taxation including corporate transactions, group tax planning, managing exits from businesses and mergers/acquisitions.

“We believe in adding value for our clients, and Chris joining the firm full time does just that.”

Practice chairman, Alan Wintersgill added: ‘Chris is already well known to many of our clients through his tax consultancy work with us. He is an excellent addition to the team and will head up the Naylor Wintersgill tax department.”

Chris Gumbley transferred to the Naylor Wintersgill office based at Carlton House on 1 February 2016.

EXECUTIVE recruitment company Flint Hyde is expanding its offering with a facilities management division.

Alistair Houston has joined the business’ Leeds office to head up this division.

Taking on the head of Facilities Management role, Mr Houston brings with him nine years’ experience in recruitment, working with Mackenzie Stuart and Core Consulting.

He started his career working in advertising for organisations including the Yorkshire Post, Autotrader and Leeds United.

James Hyde, director at Flint Hyde, added: “We are delighted that Alistair has joined Flint Hyde to develop our new Facilities Management practice.

“Facilities management is an area in which we have always looked to invest and with his excellent track record, wealth of experience and extensive senior level contact base, Alistair’s profile fits perfectly with Flint Hyde’s model of advising boards on their senior talent acquisition strategies.”

Flint Hyde was set up by Jonathan Flint and James Hyde in 2003 and employs 25 people across offices in Leeds and London.

LAW firm Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield office has seen the appointment of barrister Yvonne Simpson.

Ms Simpson joins the commercial litigation team from BLM.

Called to the Bar in 1997, Ms Simpson moved to a firm of solicitors in London in 1999.

Since then she has worked in-house for a national telecommunications company and the Government Legal Service.

Dorrien Peters, commercial litigation partner in Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield office, said:
“Irwin Mitchell’s commercial litigation team in Sheffield performed well in 2015 and I am confident that we are in a strong position to take advantage of the opportunities that are ahead of us in 2016.
