Corporate retailer set to double turnover to £6m

A BUSINESS that went into administration in 2011 has turned it around, and is looking to double turnover this year.

Leeds company The Business Wear Company, which supplies Jet2, Transdev and Bovis Homes, grew by 42% last year.

It is predicting sales near the £6m mark this year after securing two major contracts, The business saw revenues of £2.7m in 2015.

To aid in their expansion, Finance Yorkshire has given them a £60,000 business loan to support ecommerce and warehousing projects.

The Business Wear Company was bought out of administration in 2011 by industry veteran Nick Atkinson and Swedish clothing maker Gote David, the Business Wear Company turned over £2.7m last year.

Mr Atkinson undertook an MBO at London-based Prima Corporate in 1999. He then went on to sell it to 2005 to listed company Alexandra for just under £4m.

The move saved 20 jobs, and the company now has 34 employees
