EAST-Yorkshire-based Bluestorm Design & Marketing has welcomed communications professional Lucy Marsh to its PR team.

With almost 20 years’ writing experience, Ms Marsh brings with her a background in renewables and biofuels, which will build on Bluestorm’s existing expertise in the energy sector.

Ms Marsh started her career as a journalist on national newspapers, before becoming a freelance writer. She then moved into PR, marketing and advertising for a number of years, copywriting for a range of clients. She spent two years writing and editing Cornwall Energy’s digital title Energy Spectrum, and has recently been in the role of communications officer at NNFCC, an international bioeconomy consultancy with expertise on the conversion of biomass to bioenergy, biofuels and bio-based products.

Along with Bluestorm’s ongoing work providing integrated marketing and PR support to Green Port Hull, the agency has worked on other energy-related projects, with clients including Siemens, Humber LEP, ABP and Team Humber Marine Alliance (THMA).

Andrew Cawley, managing director at Bluestorm, said: “The Humber region is positioning itself as a global leader in the fast-growing energy sector, thanks to Hull’s proximity to a third of the country’s designated major wind farm development zones. In addition to offshore wind, there are major investments and opportunities in biofuels, waste to energy, solar, wave and tidal power generation in our area.

“These opportunities on our doorstep means Bluestorm is constantly building its client base in the ports, logistics and energy sectors, which are prominent in our region. We are looking forward to future projects across these industries and believe Lucy is the ideal person to support our efforts and add strength with her knowledge in this area. We’re delighted to have her on board.”
