Appointments: Sovereign Health Care; LITTLE; Nexus Vehicle Rental

HEALTH care cash plan provider Sovereign Health has appointed Julian Sellars as its finance director and company secretary.

Mr Sellars, who studied economics before qualifying with Deloitte, joined the company from OneFamily, where he acted as head of finance.

His expertise include insurance and investment accounting, financial reporting and closing, and statutory accounting.

Welcoming Mr Sellars to the firm, chief executive Russ Piper said: “Julian brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with him and I am very pleased to be welcoming him on to the team.

“With over 19 years’ experience, I look forward to Julian helping to grow the company by introducing new systems, processes and procedures. Once in place, these developments will enable the operations to be as efficient as possible, especially as we continue to evolve the company and invest in its future.”

Nexus Vehicle Rental has recruited Chris McGarry as IT directorCORPORATE vehicle rental provider Nexus Vehicle Rental has recruited Chris McGarry as IT director in a move the business says signals its intention to grow its technological capabilities and develop new products and services.

Mr McGarry was formerly head of IT at holiday price comparison site Icelolly where he restructured the IT department and implemented processes to resolve performance and stability issues, ultimately contributing to the sale of the company for £17m.

He began his career at leading healthcare software and services provider EMIS Group where he was responsible for establishing IT teams and developing infrastructure, including the building and running of data centres holding NHS patient records.

His appointment enables current IT director Simon Hodgson to move into a role with more of a focus on new product development for Nexus.

Nexus CEO David Brennan said: “This is a strategic appointment that will enable Simon Hodgson, our current IT director, to concentrate his time on faster product development for our clients.

“To bring someone onboard with Chris’s calibre and breadth of experience shows we are investing in the right people to grow our business. Chris’s experience of building IT teams and infrastructure coupled with Simon’s development expertise means we are perfectly placed to build and white label more products and services at a faster rate, to the benefit of our existing clients and the wider industry.

LEEDS-based marketing agency LITTLE has hired another two members to its expanding team as it said plans to open a London base are in the pipeline.

Matt O’Beney Little AgencyMatt O’Beney joins as PHP developer while Rebecca Drury has taken on the role of client account manager.

The agency has recently re-branded from Little Black Box to LITTLE and, now a full service agency, clients include The White Rose Office Park, Leeds University, Nexus and Virgin Management.

Managing director Mark Mildren said: “We’re delighted to have made two new appointments to maintain the agency’s continued growth. Rebecca and Matt have already made a great contribution to the team and I’m confident they have a great future ahead of Rebecca Drury Little Agencythem.”

Further growth is expected for the agency as it said plans to open a London base are in progress.
