Property investor set to bring Yorkshire a taste of the Orient

A LOCAL property investor has big plans to turn a former chain pub into a Chinese restaurant.
Vacant until it was sold, Turf Tavern in Handsworth, Sheffield, was sold off a guide price of £195,000.
Fleurets acted for Punch Taverns, former owners of the pub.
The bar and lounge with accompanying terrace and beer garden also contains a function room and 3-bed flat, incorporating a surfaced car park.
The investor said that an extensive refurbishment programme would be undertaken and the Turf Tavern will be reopening as a Chinese restaurant on a date yet to be confirmed.
Nick Thomas from Fleurets’ Leeds office commented: “The Turf Tavern attracted a strong level of interest drawn largely from private property developers and speculators, who were attracted by both the size and dimensions of the property.”
