Asda veteran opens latest discount store in Yorkshire

NEWLY formed discount chain Pep&Co has signed up to a 9,454 sq ft site in Sheffield.

The fashion discount retailer, trading as ‘Guess How Much’ is the brainchild of former Asda executive Andy Bond, backed with £20m by Christo Weise, the South African billionaire who acquired the New Look brand last year.

After an aggressive rollout programme for Pep&Co stores last year, which saw them open 50 sites in eight weeks, the company is now set to open on Halifax Road in Sheffield.

The business has signed a 10-year lease for the site at Kilner Way Retail Park, with the Derwent Group.

Pep&Co only opened its first store in July 2015 in Kettering, Northamptonshire.

Several major retailers have recently signed on to the retail park including TK Maxx, Costa, and Poundland. Kilner Way Retail Park is already home to brands such as Argos, Halfords, Netto, Pets at Home, and Club 3000 Bingo.

James Maule-Ffinch, Senior Asset Manager at The Derwent Group said: “Guess How Much is the latest in a number of major retailers that have already committed to securing their units at Kilner Way Retail Park.

“We’re really excited about the increasingly diverse mix of tenants that is enhancing the retail offer of Kilner Way and creating dozens of local jobs in the process.”

Joint agents for Kilner Way are Curson Sowerby and Petch & Co.
