Appointments: Investment firm appoints first non-exec director; Two manager hires for accountancy firm; New MD for sensory specialist

INVESTMENT management and stockbroking firm Redmayne-Bentley has announced the appointment of Kim Rebecchi as non-executive director.  

She is the firm’s first non-executive director and arrives at Redmayne-Bentley with a background in the financial services industry, having previously been an executive director and member of the board and the chair of the Conduct Risk Committee at Leeds Building Society.

Ms Rebecchi is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and is also a NED with the Business Enterprise Fund and Furness Building Society.

Redmayne-Bentley’s senior partner Keith Loudon said: “It’s a sign of our growth that we have appointed our first ever non-executive director. We feel that as a result of her experience, she’ll make a considerable contribution to the progress of the firm. We are confident that in both the mid and longer-term future, we will expand.”

Wintersgill AssociatesACCOUNTANCY firm Wintersgill Associates has brought in a marketing manager and head of business development to its team.

Sue Staton, marketing manager, spent 15 years working in the marketing departments of global electronics company Sony in the UK and Germany before moving to Yorkshire and joining Wintersgill Associates.  

Andrew Dodsworth, head of business development, has a background as a financial markets trader with experience at global financial institutions like Credit Lyonnais and Daiwa International. He also ran a brokerage company which specialised in interbank dealing in equity derivatives.

Paul Wintersgill, managing director of Wintersgill Associates, said: “Very few accountancy firms have people dedicated to marketing and growing the business, but we’re an innovative business. We don’t just talk the talk, advising other companies on how to grow – we’re demonstrating growth from within.”

SENSORY equipment specialist Experia has appointed Peter Saunders as managing director as the business looks set to expand.

Mr Saunders will lead the business, which last year celebrated its 10th anniversary, as it grows its product range and increases its market presence following a turnover of £1.8m in 2015, which the company aims to increase by 20% this year.

Experia designs, manufactures and installs sensory equipment to aid sensory development and works with schools, hospitals and specialist care centres across the country to create multisensory environments to enable users to develop their sensory skills.

The company is also the preferred supplier for leading sports charities The Lord’s Taverners and Wooden Spoon, which give disadvantaged and disabled young people opportunities to participate in sport.

Before joining Barnsley-based Experia, Mr Saunders held senior positions in the manufacturing and engineering markets.

He said: “I am very pleased to be appointed managing director at Experia and to be working in a market I care passionately about. I am looking forward to the challenge of leading the business through the next stage of its growth and development.”
