Creative/Digital: Events sharing site launched; National account win for agency; and more

A HARROGATE-based businessman has created a new online platform to change how events are found and shared.

David Stanier came across the need for an easier way to join others in a bid to become fit and active, having spent numerous hours “wading through an endless maze” of what’s on and where to go websites.

Having appointed Leeds-based LITTLE agency to build a bespoke platform, the site launched this month, following eight months of development.

Do It Crowd is a free platform and shows all events via an easy-to-navigate map view.

Visitors to the site can choose when and what they want to do, or just click on everything that’s there. The site also informs the user straightaway if any event details are changed and it tracks whether there is a full team for the next game or event.

Andrew Jones, MP, has been one of the first to test the new site.

He said: “It is great to see local innovative businesses start and grown.  It was a pleasure to meet David and hear about doitcrowd.com which is good example of the new ventures in our area.  I wish him and the team every success in bringing people together and getting more people involved in the many community activities.”

THE Leeds team at Golley Slater PR has been appointed to handle the communications for LDF, a provider of SME finance solutions.

The agency has been briefed to educate businesses on the benefits of non-bank lending routes for small companies with big growth plans.

The Leeds office of Golley Slater, headed by managing director, Eileen Stretton, will raise the profile of LDF by creating content and news for the SME market, to dispel misconceptions of non-bank finance to growing businesses.

A significant part of the brief will be to raise the profile of the business’ key senior management team, including managing director, Peter Alderson.

Head of marketing, Natalie Powell, said: “With the launch of lendinghive, and celebrating our 30th anniversary in business, 2016 is a pivotal year for our expanding business and we felt we needed to switch our approach to a more ambitious approach to PR. Our brief reflected that the real nature of the SME market in the UK is such that to only speak to business and trade would be naïve of us – we need to be more holistically relevant to a wide range of small business owners. We chose the Golley Slater team because they showed genuine creativity in how they could get our message to wider media audience in a compelling way.”
