Marketing business saves 60 jobs following collapse of rival

TELEMARKETING agency Leopold Health went into administration at the end of April. 60 jobs were set to be lost at the business, until Sheffield-based rival Ant Marketing stepped in.

Ant started offering jobs the the former Leopold employees, and were able to interview them that afternoon, with 26 initially being taken on.

A further 30 were added to Ant’s ranks following the collapse.

Ant’s chief executive Anthony Hinchliffe set up the St Mary’s Gate-based firm 27 years ago, and following the mass recruitment, now employs around 400 staff, working on a variety of national and international campaigns for clients in both the B2B and B2C sectors.

Mr Hinchcliffe said: “The team had the kind of skills were looking for so it was a sound business decision as far as I could see, but having gone through it myself all those years ago I remember that awful feeling of being made redundant and I wanted to take that away from them as quickly as possible.”
