Creative/Digital: Double property development win for communications firm; Sony partnership announced; and more

ABERFIELD COMMUNICATIONS has completed a property development ‘double’ after being appointed by St Congar to deliver a communications programme for the redevelopment of part of the Thorp Arch Estate near Wetherby.

It follows the agency’s appointment by Rockspring to support on the 6 Queen Street development in Leeds.

Aberfield is handling local engagement and marketing communication for the proposed Rudgate Village scheme at Thorp Arch, which will deliver a new village with up to 1,000 homes, plus a school, retail and community facilities on the site of the former Royal Ordnance factory and current Thorp Arch Retail Park.

Initially Aberfield will be raising awareness and understanding of the plans and delivering community engagement events ahead of a new planning application, which is expected in the summer.

The Thorp Arch Estate is owned by Rockspring Hanover Property Unit Trust and the new plans are being brought forward on their behalf by St Congar, alongside masterplanning architects DLA Architects Practice and planning consultancy the Pegasus Group.

Aberfield will continue to work with Rockspring on the 6 Queen Street development in Leeds City Centre, which will be completing and launching later in 2016.

22 Street Lane Nursery ElmwoodBRAND design consultancy Elmwood has completed its latest creative project with a corporate identity for a day nursery opening in Leeds.

Located in Roundhay, 22 Street Lane Nursery is aimed at parents seeking childcare that will support their child’s holistic development.

Elmwood’s challenge was to reflect the brand’s aspiration to become the leading nursery provider in the UK, providing excellence in early years care.

Ruth Wood, designer at Elmwood, said: “We knew the brand wanted to be recognised as a childcare provider with a game-changing environment, so we needed to find ways to bring the brand’s ethos to life. Like Elmwood, the nursery celebrates the process of creativity and not just the end product, actively encouraging not only each child’s growth, but also their individuality. The overall brand experience is one of nurturing a child, in a natural environment using the best possible resources available.”
