Appointments: Accountancy firm appoints regional leader; Former Knight Frank office head makes move; Promotions for architects

ANDREW KIMBER, a specialist in valuing and derivatives has joined PwC as the regional derivative valuation leader for the North.

He will be responsible for developing PwC’s UK regional derivative valuation and market risk business.

Mr Kimber has extensive experience of derivatives and risk management, previously holding senior positions within the front office, managing market and credit risk for a major investment bank and asset manager. Prior to joining PwC, he was at EY where he was responsible for running its UK derivatives valuation group.

Andrew has presented numerous training courses, on derivative pricing and market risk management, to a variety of tier 1 banks and major financial institutions and has a PhD in theoretical physics from Oxford University.

TIM WARING has joined Dacre, Son & Hartley as a director and will specialise in selling top end homes across the company’s North Yorkshire office network.  

He also joins the board at Dacres, which employs a 160 strong team across its 21 offices.

He previously spent 11 years as Knight Frank’s office head in Harrogate.  Prior to that he worked at Carter Jonas as the firm’s national head of residential.

In his new role, Mr Waring will specialise in marketing homes priced above £500,000 in and around Harrogate, and will work with the company’s North Yorkshire branch network which includes Wetherby, Ripon, Knaresborough, Thirsk and Pateley Bridge.

WATSON BATTY ARCHITECTS has announced two promotions at its studio in Guiseley, Leeds.
 
Ben Pickersgill Watson BattyBen Pickersgill has been promoted to associate director.  He has been with the practice for 12 years and in his new role he will use his expertise across commercial, industrial and education sectors and contribute more strategically across a broad range of clients.

Simon Collins, a technologist who has been with Watson Batty for 14 years, has been promoted to associate.  He will lead technical delivery for the more complex and challenging projects in the business as well as oversee the increased use Revit software that supports a BIM workflow from concept to construction.
