Serious accident closes A1 West Yorkshire

THE A1M in West Yorkshire is closed southbound between J44 (A64/Leeds) and J43 (M1), due to a serious incident.

There are long delays on approach to the closure at J44, reportedly due to a collision in which a man was hit by a lorry.

The serious incident on the A1 has involved accident investigation work.

Traffic is advised to exit the A1M at J44 and follow the hollow square diversion symbol.

Take the A64 westbound towards Whinmoor. Then take the A6120 eastbound and then join the A63. Continue on the A63 eastbound and re-join the A1M at J42.

Road users are advised to expect delays and to allow extra time for their journeys.
