Appointments: Corporate tax specialist hired by accountancy group; Prestige car finance company appoints CEO; and more

HULL-based chartered accountancy group Smailes Goldie has appointed David Hibbert as a corporate tax manager.

Mr Hibbert has worked with clients ranging from household names to large owner-managed businesses on matters including corporate tax compliance and planning, as well as due diligence and reorganisations.

His expertise spans a wide spectrum from corporation tax and company reorganisations to due diligence, owner managed businesses and research and development tax credits.

Mr Hibbert said: “I’m delighted to have joined Smailes Goldie Group. I’m already helping clients with a range of tax services, delivering potentially substantial savings.”

Oracle Asset Finance has appointed Mark Catton as CEOPRESTIGE car finance specialist Oracle Asset Finance has appointed Mark Catton as CEO.

Formerly chief executive of RBS’ UK Corporate Bank, he joins the Knaresborough-based company as it embarks on the next stage of its ambitious growth and strategic development plans.

Mr Catton will join the board with immediate effect and takes up his new post from t September 1, following FCA approval.

With more than 25 years banking and finance experience, the last 15 years at executive level, Mr Catton has been instrumental in developing and strengthening large customer bases and franchises.

During his career he has been a non-executive director of Direct Line Group and held key managerial roles at Barclays and NatWest.

“I am delighted to be joining Oracle and look forward to leading the business through its next phase of development and growth,” said Mr Catton.

“On average, the business has successfully grown 20% each year and this is down to its fantastic team who are passionate about delivering the best service.

Joe Nasson ProjexTHE Leeds office of Projex Building Solutions has made two appointments.

Joe Nasson joins as associate director, bringing 15 years’ project management and building consultancy experience gathered from working in a number of different disciplines and practices, most recently his own York-based consultancy which specialised in residential design and construction.

Projex has also appointed James Morphet as building surveyor.  A graduate from Northumbria University and with a background in residential and renewables, he will support the teams working on some of the UK’s major retail and leisure developments, part of the £500m worth of developments Projex will deliver over the next two years.
