People: Regional MD appointed at bank; operations exec joins mechanical services firm

A REGIONAL managing director for mid markets has been appointed at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.
Nick Laird joins the team having started at the bank in 2013, taking over from Alasdair Gardner who has been appointed head of global corporates North America.
Mr Laird will start in September and will report into Tim Hinton, managing director, Mid Markets and SME Banking.
Laird, will lead Lloyds Bank’s Commercial Banking presence in the North of England and Bank of Scotland’s Commercial Banking presence in Scotland, leading a relationship team of 120 who support clients with businesses with turnover between £25m and £750m.

A NORTHALLERTON mechanical services business is expanding in the Scottish market with its latest appointment.
Mark Lammey joins HCS Mechanical Services as operations manager for Scotland.

A CONFERENCE set up to “leverage the assets of the North” has been boosted at board level.
The UK Northern Powerhouse has appointed four Yorkshire business heavyweights to its advisory board.
Huddersfield’s Ajaz Ahmed, John Mothersole, CEO at Sheffield City Council and Roger Marsh OBE, chairman of Leeds City Region LEP will all join the board, led by Sheffield’s Lord Kerslake.
The four Yorkshire business leaders will be joined on the advisory board by more than eight other leaders from the field of business and local government from the region and beyond including Alexandra Jones (CEO, Centre for Cities), Paul Marsh (Head of Development and Finance, Capital Investment Group, Department for International Trade) and Sarah Green (Director of Regions, CBI).
