Creative/Digital: Design specialist takes off at RHS Garden Harlow Carr; Australian law firm signs with Ink; and more

HUDDERSFIELD-based design and display specialist The Wonderworks has helped bring to life six weeks of rocket-science family fun at RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Harrogate.

The Wonderworks, which creates visual designs and displays for a variety of industries including garden centres, shopping centres and branding agencies was tasked with creating bespoke props for RHS Harlow Carr’s space-themed gardens.

The project was inspired by the RHS Campaign for School Gardening ‘Rocket Science’ campaign which saw 2kg of rocket seeds being sent to the International Space Station.

Encapsulating British astronaut Tim Peake’s recent achievements and to ensure children and families continue to be engaged with his legacy, RHS Harlow Carr sought the prop-making expertise of The Wonderworks to create a 6ft sculpted rocket, designed for children and adults alike to have pictures taken in with the aim of being shared on social media platforms.

Alongside the sculpt, The Wonderworks also created a raft of supporting items including a full solar system for the exterior frontage of the gardens and a full solar system on poles positioned in the gardens as an interactive display for children to play amongst.

The display continues to run until September 4.

Elementary Digital Global Navigation SolutionsELEMENTARY Digital has charted a new route to market for the technology firm behind the navigation systems that guide ships around the world.

Global Navigation Solutions currently sells its software through shipping hubs, with a global service that covers all major ports and a priority network of 60 major ports in 25 countries.

Gyles Seward of Leeds-based agency Elementary said one of the key challenges had been to present the complex technical product range in a simplified format that engaged customers and still provided them with a good level of information.

He said the new website had been designed to improve the firm’s online visibility and convert more website visits to sales.

“Shipping companies are increasingly switching to digital and by promoting these services effectively online GNS can meet the changing needs of its market and expand this area of its business,” he explained.

Global Navigation Solutions provides navigation solutions for all SOLAS regulated shipping from bulk carriers to super yachts.

Brawl Oasis appointmentFASHION retailer Oasis has appointed Brawl to a wide ranging content marketing brief.

The Leeds-based agency will create a brand film to launch the retailer’s last collection from its partnership with the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Brawl will create content that will be used across social and digital channels, and in-store digital point of sale.

Oasis and the Victoria and Albert Museum have collaborated on an exclusive capsule fashion collection – born out of mutual love of print, pattern and colour. The collection is based on botanical prints from the 18th and 19th century, hand selected from the extensive V&A archives by the Oasis in-house design team.

Jessica Stanley, social media manager, said: “Our designers explored the depths of the V&A archive to transform their favourite prints into a selection of 10 amazing dresses. It was important that this campaign captures the inspiration behind this collaboration. Brawl showed a real passion for this project and brought some real creative flair.”

The fashion brand Oasis has 406 stores across the country. A new flagship store was also opened recently on London’s Tottenham Court Road, with an in-store café, prosecco bar and beauty salon.

Martin Jones, managing director of Brawl, said: “It was a great experience to be part of the creative process. We brought it to life for fashionistas everywhere through a striking brand film, behind-the-scenes and moving point of sale content.”

Brawl operates internationally from its base in Leeds for clients that include Superdrug, Silver Cross and Whittard of Chelsea.
