People: Business lender appoints head of portfolio management; New team member for wealth manager; and more

LEEDS and Manchester based alternative business lender Reward Finance Group has restructured and expanded its invoice finance team and has appointed Karen Vincent as head of portfolio management.

Ms Vincent becomes the fifth appointment and year end results to February 2016 confirm Reward saw a 27% increase in fee and interest income to £6.6m in its fourth full trading year.

Joining from Santander Invoice Finance, Ms Vincent brings a wealth of experience having spent 25 years in financial services, including client manager roles at Aldermore Invoice Finance, Haydock Finance and over 15 years at South Africa’s BoE Bank.

Lorna Robertson has joined the team at 4Life Wealth ManagementFINANCIAL consultant Lorna Robertson has joined the team at 4Life Wealth Management in Harrogate.  She will provide advice to clients across Leeds and Wharfe Valley.

The company, which is a senior partner practice of St. James’s Place Wealth Management, approached Ms Robertson to join the business as it seeks to expand its elite team of advisors across the Yorkshire region.

She brings over 25 years’ professional experience having previously advised for a number of high street bank and building society clients about their investments, pensions and inheritance tax planning.

At 4Life Wealth Management, she will provide holistic financial advice to both corporate and private clients.

HD Business WorksA BUSINESS support programme has appointed an adviser.

HD Business Works, formed in April this year, welcomed Adrian Bird to its team of advisers.

Having been involved in work-based learning since 2008, Mr Bird is now committed sharing his wealth of knowledge to the HD Business Works community and helping to connect businesses to apprentices.

As the founder of The Apprentice Finder, a Brighouse-based recruitment agency, Mr Bird is known for providing support in schools, connecting students to good quality apprenticeship opportunities and supporting businesses to discuss funding and grant support available.

He said: “I am excited to join the group and share the goal of helping small businesses in the local area to grow. I am confident that I will add additional benefits to businesses looking to seek additional resource and invest in local people through apprenticeships.”
