Head to the 1950’s with a drive-in movie

THIS October half term, Moonlight Drive-In Cinema is moving into York.

Moonlight will be launching family-friendly screenings at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York, starting from Friday 21 October.

The opening night film will be classic kids animation film Toy Story.

Moonlight’s drive-in movie cinema will see the film’s sound transmitted directly into the vehicle’s in-car audio system with visuals from a 16m wide projector and refreshments can be delivered to the vehicle’s window

Moonlight Drive-in Cinema founder Benjamin Stonehouse who said: “We are delighted to be working with McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York to enable more people in York to enjoy our drive-in movie experience. What better way to cheer up the dark half term nights by making the most of them by bringing the whole family to see one of our family friendly films.”

Mike Thomas, McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York Centre Manager, said: “We are delighted to host our first ever drive-in cinema and are looking forward to providing additional entertainment to our shoppers this October half term.”

The nine day schedule has been released with tickets now available online.Moonlight Drive-in Cinema will be showing the following films at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York:

Friday 21 October – Toy Story, Saturday 22 October – Lion King, Sunday 23 October – Ghost, Monday 24 October – Mamma Mia, Wednesday 26 October – Hairspray, Thursday 27 October – Frozen, Friday 28 October – Minions, Saturday 29 October – Shrek and Sunday 30 October – Alice Through the Looking Glass. Gates will open at 6.30pm with the film starting at 7pm.

 

On 21, 22, 28 and 29 October there will be a second film shown at 9pm; Grease, Dirty Dancing, Top Gun and Back to the Future respectively.
